Winning several special awards for the concept, Da Playgound is Jade's first ever routine incorporating the use of a prop in the entire dance. Dancers were challenged to communicate their story of friends playing typical games on an imaginative dance playground filled with ups and downs and an energetic ending. This is the studio's top soloist only 14 years old at the first competition of the season. Continuing her success of last year's MUSICIAN we decided to do MUSICIAN PART 2. This year our Lyrical Hip Hop Class debuted their routine to "When Love Takes Over" choreographed by Jade Jager Clark at a competition back in March. Jade's Hip Hop Academy Performance Company performed at this year's Scotiabanks Nuit Blanche. Dancers ages 9-18 performed their 15 minute piece three times on Saturday October 2nd in the Disitllery District in Toronto and entertained audiences all night longe from 8pm to 2:30am!! The "What is Hip Hop Dance?"piece was performerd as Part of Dance Ontario's LOOK, LISTEN, MOVE and the purpose of the piece was to educate the general audience on authentic hip hop dance as many people are still under the impression that what they see on TV or in music videos represents our genre. Jades Hip Hop Academy ages 16-17 Competitive Team performed their DIVA routine at the University of Torontos BSA 3rd Annual Fashion Show called RUSH- Rocking Urban Street Wear Swim Wear and High Fashion. The event was held at REIGN nightclub down town Toronto on February 18th and featured Torontos hottest up and coming designers in urban, business, casual, formal and swim wear. Dancers also modeled designs from a local designer. The show raised funds for Big Brothers and Big Sisters as well as furthering BSA's Mission to fund post secondary education for disadvantaged.
